Colton Kelly Continues Progress with Solid Run at Mobile International Speedway
MOBILE, ALA. (April 12, 2026) — Colton Kelly continued to show steady improvement in his Pro Late Model development Saturday night at Mobile International Speedway, turning in a solid performance in the No. 18 Pave America entry.
Kelly qualified second with a strong lap of 17.899 seconds, putting himself in position to contend early. With a six-car invert, the young driver rolled off fifth for the start of the feature.
As the race got underway, Kelly quickly worked his way forward, climbing to third place and establishing himself inside the top three during the opening stages of the event.
A late-race caution on lap 27, however, shifted the momentum.
Following the restart, Kelly’s car developed a loose condition, making it difficult to maintain his position against a competitive field. Despite the handling challenges, he battled to the finish and brought the car home in sixth place.
“I had a solid run and finished the race,” Kelly said. “I am doing better every time I go out, and that’s what counts.”
For the 14-year-old driver, the night marked another step forward in his transition into full-bodied race cars — continuing to gain valuable seat time and experience against strong competition.

Kelly returns to action in a Pro Late Model at Five Flags Speedway on April 24, where he’ll look to build on his progress and continue climbing the leaderboard.
